The Art Gallery of Outlook is an accessible community orientated Art Gallery which provides activities that enriches the lives of local citizens and visitors.  It is the cultural jewel of the Outlook region and a desirable place to visit.  The AGO features a year-round program of exhibitions, lectures, workshops, tours, demonstrations, and offers educational opportunities for professionals, schools and members of the community at large.

The Gallery is governed by an enthusiastic, dedicated and knowledgeable group of volunteers and managed by a full time excellent employee. The broad base of local support from individuals, corporations and governments makes the Gallery a model for community ownership and stable funding.

About Us

The Outlook and District Arts Council manages the Art Gallery of Outlook on behalf of the community. Being a proud member of the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils, we have the privilege of presenting top-tier exhibitions to our patrons. Additionally, we actively foster artistic growth and development by showcasing works from local artists in our shows.

Art Gallery of Outlook Exhibition Proposals

Gallery Applications

Art Gallery of Outlook (AGO) is a community-based gallery that strives to provide high quality artwork that is of diverse subject matter and of interest to our patrons.  AGO is a family friendly venue, but we also wish to be accessible and relevant to the general public. The AGO reserves the right to refuse submissions for work that it considers inappropriate.

AGO will accept proposals for exhibitions from interested parties twice a year.

  • Deadlines: postmarked on or before March 15, and September 15, each year.  
  • Submissions may be made for solo, two-person or group exhibits in any media.
  • Submissions must be made in writing and submitted by mail to the Outlook and District Arts Council.

Exhibition proposal must include: 

  1. a proposal (2 page maximum)
  2. a minimum of 10 digital images with a list including titles of the works, media, date work was completed, size and price
  3. a CV or resume
  4. an Artist Statement
  5. A self-addressed stamped envelope with sufficient postage if you would like your digital images returned.
  6. Please list any special installation requirements for the work proposed.

Individuals who have exhibited in the gallery in a solo or two-person show are not eligible for another show until two years after their exhibition.

Proposals submissions will only be accepted by mail or hand delivery to the Visual Coordinator.

Selection Criteria

The Gallery Committee will review all submissions.  Selection of shows will be based on:

  • Quality of work
  • Artistic merit

Emphasis/preference will be given to local and Saskatchewan based artists.

Incomplete submissions will not be considered.  Submissions received after the deadline will be held for the next submission deadline.  The decisions of the Committee are final.

AGO will comply with The Arts Professions Act.  The AGO will enter into a written contract with all artists exhibiting in their venue.  AGO will pay CARFAC fees to all artists, subject to funding availability.
